How to Measure and Calculate Roof Angle

There are several ways

If you do not already know the angle of your roof, this page shows a simple example of how it can be measured.

By measuring height and width, the roof angle can be calculated.

(You can also calculate the angle yourself using trigonometry. If it has been a while since school, there are plenty of explanations available on YouTube and elsewhere online.)

Using a Spirit Level and Measuring Stick

1. Measure an arbitrary height or width.
2. Make sure the triangle is square, meaning one vertical side and one horizontal side.
3. Send the measurements to us and we will calculate the roof angle for you, or calculate it yourself using the formula below.
