Decorative wooden window corbel in Swedish pine wood. Mounted beneath the upper window trim for traditional facades.

Window corbels for exterior windows provide a subtle yet clear enhancement to a building’s architecture. This model creates a harmonious frame in turn-of-the-century style and pairs beautifully with casings or panelling.

Painting & treatment

Sand the end grain with fine sandpaper.
Careful priming is of great importance. Apply a generous and thorough primer coat, preferably with a brush. A small roller may help on flat surfaces, but finish with a brush for proper coverage.

Recommended paint type:

High-quality paint. Premium paints usually contain better pigments, giving stronger coverage and reducing the need for extra coats.
High-quality primer – preferably oil-based.
Joinery paint (also known as window paint) – preferably with film-preserving agents against mould growth, or alternatively oil-based paint.
Avoid matt paints, as these increase the risk of surface growth.

Linseed oil paint – apply generously and thoroughly. Once again, choose a high-quality paint.
