Backbands and casing extensions are used to widen and build out existing door casings. By adding a narrow trim piece beside the casing, the doorway gains more width, depth and a clearer shadow line. This is an effective way to create a more defined and considered frame, suitable for modern homes, new builds and older properties alike.
Two-part casing
Our profiles work both in two-part casing solutions and for those who want to create a custom look with more depth than standard casings offer. Widths such as 27 and 33 mm are uncommon in Europe and are often seen in classic American trim styles, yet they fit naturally in both contemporary and traditional interiors.
All trims are supplied unfinished in solid Scandinavian pine and can be painted to match the rest of the home.
Backbands and extension trims offer a flexible way to give door and window openings a more structured and refined appearance. Adding an extra piece beside the casing creates a wider and more defined profile that works equally well in modern interiors and homes with classic details.
The trims are milled in Scandinavia from solid pine and supplied unfinished for painting. They are designed to match our door casings, skirtings, crown mouldings and plinth blocks, making it easy to create a coherent and well-balanced interior.
