Victorian Bargeboard / Rake Board Trim - No. 9-004

Victorian running trim as decoration for eaves & vergeboards. The trim is mounted under the lowest bargeboard or across the lowest parts of the houses

Supplied untreated, ready to be painted in any colour to harmonise with the façade. The decoration ties together the home’s traditional gingerbread trim (also known as Victorian fretwork) and is appreciated in building conservation projects, but also suits newer houses built in a classic style.

The webshop price is per piece, available in lengths starting from 180 cm.

Material

Birch: High-quality exterior-bonded birch plywood, knot-free and sanded. Standard thickness 18 mm, also available in 24 mm.
Pine: Solid high-quality timber, knot-free and sanded. Standard thickness 21 mm, also available in 30 mm.

The product is supplied in untreated wood that you can paint or finish with linseed oil paint, oil-based paint, or water-based paint.

Painting & Finishing

Lightly sand end grain with fine paper.
Prime thoroughly—apply generously and work into edges and end grain. A small roller helps on flat areas; use a brush for profiles.
Recommended: high-quality paint systems. Prefer an oil-based primer and an exterior joinery/window paint (with film preservatives) or an oil-based topcoat. Avoid dead-matt finishes as they tend to attract biological growth.
Linseed oil paint is also suitable—apply carefully and use a quality brand.

Larger items (e.g. long mouldings/moldings) are delivered to your address; smaller parcels normally go to a service point.
