Create a bigger change in a simple way. 

You can mount a decorative strip on walls, mirror frames, wardrobe doors and kitchen doors. In the past, it was common to have wall moldings that actually had the function of protecting the road as chairs were often placed behind the walls.

Mount together with skirting and plinth

To get the feeling of a high  plinth and skirting board, you can mount a decorative strip 10-30 cm above the skirting board. It's nice to also mount an mdf or thin plywood between the skirting board and the decorative board - join - and finally paint them together.
