Choosing the Right Size
On a façade or wall, decorations often look smaller than they do in the hand—especially higher up. When in doubt, choose slightly larger.
A simple rule of thumb: divide the column height by 6–7 to get a suitable bracket width. For example, a 225 cm column: 225/6.5 ≈ 35 cm.
See our example of bracket sizes for a 225 cm porch.

Something that feels large in the hand often ""shrinks"" visually when it ends up on the facade and the house.
A tip is that you calculate the size of a bracket with the height of the column divided by approximately 6.5 and you will have the appropriate width of the bracket. (In this example 225/6.5 ≈ 35 cm)
Here we show an example of the size for some consoles on a porch with an example measurement of 225 cm.

Mounting & Installation
Installed most easily with construction adhesive, e.g. Illbruk PL 800 or equivalent.
Product Information
Our wooden brackets are crafted in Sweden from WBP-bonded (Water and Boil Proof) birch plywood—the same adhesive class used for marine plywood—giving excellent moisture resistance and long service life.
Birch plywood is exceptionally dimensionally stable and does not crack, even in slender sections. This makes it possible to achieve the fine, decorative cut-outs typical of gingerbread woodwork without compromising strength or durability.
We also offer our brackets in traditional solid pine. Explore our pine brackets in larger dimensions.
Painting & Finishing
- Lightly sand end grain with fine paper.
- Prime thoroughly—apply generously and work into edges and end grain. A small roller helps on flat areas; use a brush for profiles.
- Recommended: high-quality paint systems. Prefer an oil-based primer and an exterior joinery/window paint (with film preservatives) or an oil-based topcoat. Avoid dead-matt finishes as they tend to attract biological growth.
- Linseed oil paint is also suitable—apply carefully and use a quality brand.
