Historic deck and balcony railings were often lower in order not to obstruct the view. If you want to combine the original appearance with current safety requirements, you can add an additional handrail to achieve the correct height.

Material and Treatment for Outdoor Use

All our railing ribs and flat balusters are supplied in untreated solid pine and can be painted with linseed oil paint, oil-based paint, or water-based paint. The wood is adapted for outdoor use and ages beautifully with the right treatment.
