Painting & Surface Preparation

Our columns & Posts are made of solid spruce and will naturally contain knots; minor tear-out and blemishes can also occur. For a neat and durable finish, fill small gaps and imperfections with wood filler or decorators’ caulk, then sand smooth.

Before painting, prime with a high-quality stain-blocking primer or a shellac-based sealer to lock in resin at knots and prevent bleed-through and discolouration. Some primers are formulated specifically for knot-rich timber—ask your paint supplier for a suitable product.

For best results, coat all faces—including cut ends and edges—before installation. Finish with two coats of exterior paint according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

How are the packages delivered?

We pack each parcel with a maximum weight of 35 kg. For larger orders, the delivery will be split into several parcels.
