Here you’ll find elegant wood trim and mouldings — also known as architraves, casings, or coverings — including skirting boards, window trims, door trims, and base plinths. These details are used at the top and bottom of walls, and around windows and door frames, adding a warm, vintage charm often associated with turn-of-the-century cottages and Victorian homes.
Whether you're renovating and want to recreate the original atmosphere using traditional wood mouldings, or building a new house with a timeless, minimalist look inspired by the 1800s, we offer both standard and customised moulding profiles tailored to your needs. Our "Allmoge" collection — a Nordic cottage-style trim — is available on request and made with care in Sweden.
Nordic Cottage-Style Mouldings – Classic Details for Timeless Interiors
We specialise in recreating traditional Nordic moulding profiles such as skirting boards, window trims, door casings, and unique base blocks. Our collection includes authentic styles from the 1800s and early 1900s, inspired by national romanticism and classic Scandinavian architecture.
Enhance Your Walls with Decorative Trim and Skirting Boards
An easy way to elevate your interior is to install a narrow decorative wall trim 10–30 cm above the skirting board. By placing a wooden panel in between and painting all components in the same colour, you create the illusion of a taller base. Base blocks at the bottom of the door frame add a refined and traditional finish.
Lower the Ceiling Visually Using Moulding Combinations
By adding a narrow wall trim just below the ceiling moulding, you can lower the ceiling visually and create a cosy, cottage-style atmosphere. Combining mouldings of different sizes reinforces the classic feel of early 20th-century interiors.
Custom-Made Mouldings for Historic Buildings
We regularly produce custom mouldings for historic houses, log cabins, and cottages from the 17th and 18th centuries. If you need to replicate an old trim or frame, we’re happy to assist you with precise craftsmanship.
Choose the Right Dimensions – Indoors and Outdoors
To achieve a harmonious look, use wider frames and door plinth blocks for double doors or patio doors. For small windows, a narrower trim will ensure balance. The same principles apply to exterior woodwork, where symmetry and proportion play an important role.
All our mouldings are made and planed in our workshop in Sala, Västmanland – 90 minutes from Stockholm and 45 minutes from Uppsala.
